The intention of The Maze

The Maze was created as a portal into centered awareness, self-trust, and the Divine Witness. The artwork carries the energy of moving through complexity without losing your anchor, learning to observe the mind without becoming consumed by it, and trusting your ability to navigate even when the path feels unclear. It holds the frequency of discernment, inner steadiness, and the remembrance that there is always a deeper part of us that knows the way through.

In the home, it becomes a visual anchor for returning to center when the mind feels scattered, heavy, or pulled in many directions. A piece to walk with as you strengthen your relationship with your own inner knowing, move through uncertainty with greater trust, and remember that even within the maze, the witness remains steady.

Print size and presentation

The Maze is reproduced as a Fine Art Print in 12" × 8" and 18" × 12" on heavyweight 300gsm bright white paper, chosen to preserve the depth, saturation, and detail of the original artwork.

The paper has a refined matte finish and subtly textured surface that allows the deep contrasts, intricate pathways, and symbolic details of the piece to remain rich without glare. Its surface is resistant to scratches and fingerprints, and each print is finished with hand-cut edges.

The artwork is printed without a border and arrives unframed, allowing you to choose the frame, mat, and presentation that best complement both the piece and your space.

The story behind the art

The Maze carries more Chullachaqui energy. It was painted during my time in the Amazon Jungle of Peru while undergoing a Master Plant Dieta with him. This piece came through closer to the beginning of the Dieta, when I was in a deep fast and Chullachaqui had begun leading me into the inner mazes of my subconscious mind.

He was teaching me how to move through the deepest, darkest places within myself while always remaining anchored to truth and trusting my own ability to navigate. To never forget what I am doing, why I am there, or where my center is. He was also teaching me not to fear getting lost, because sometimes getting lost is part of the adventure. There are things we can only learn by entering the maze ourselves and discovering that we know how to find our way through.

This piece is for those moments when the mind feels heavy, thoughts are racing in every direction, and everything around us feels like a storm. It is a reminder to return to our anchor, our central point, and remember that beneath all of the movement, we are still the witness.

The eye at the center represents the Higher Self, the Divine Witness—the part of us that can observe the maze without becoming the maze. The part that remembers where we are, why we entered, and knows the pathway both in and out.

— Zella Taj (Artist & VL Founder)

Return to center

For the one whose mind can feel like a thousand pathways opening at once. The one moving through uncertainty, inner noise, or a season that asks them to stay rooted even when everything around them feels disorienting.

The Maze carries the energy of centered awareness, self-trust, and the Divine Witness. Hung in the home, it becomes a reminder that you do not have to control every turn to remain connected to yourself. A piece to walk with when you need to return to your center, remember why you entered the path in the first place, and trust that even when you feel lost, there is still a part of you that knows the way through.
